Cool stuff with turbo comics 01

What I really enjoy about Pax Arena, and overall the turbo comics (or turbo media in french) is how you can easily play with the panels and thus, the pacing.


As Mark Waid pointed out, "with the printed format you can surprise the reader only when he turns the page while here, you can surprise the reader every time".


And that's something. More free with how to create tension, more free with the format (as I will post in the next examples). Here I decided to have a nice "splash screen", very cinematic view. because I can.

You can even put the balloons on the borders, it won't spoil anything.

Still, even if you have more liberties than with the printed format, you need some rules to make it works. Because just putting panels after one another won't necessarily serve the story.

So feel free to comment and ask questions, I will try to put some more examples in weeks to come to emphasize the greatness of this format.
